Challenge

Even in today’s modern workplace, women face many barriers, including lower pay for equivalent positions, low representation in senior positions, unconscious bias, and pressures from roles outside of work. Womenwill is a Google initiative to create economic opportunity for women worldwide. Womenwill Leadership, one of the four pillars of the Womenwill initiative, aims to erase gender gaps and help create more opportunity for women to learn, succeed and be heard. In addition to providing workshops and online courses, Womenwill Leadership teaches by example and inspires a new generation of leaders.

Solution

In launching a podcast series, the Womenwill Leadership team created a platform for sharing honest conversations and practical advice about subjects and challenges that women encounter in the workplace. Guests have spoken about work-life balance, gender and power, women in STEM, self-doubt and the “imposter syndrome,” and much more. They have shared specific ways that women can support and transform themselves through goal setting, life mapping, mindful communication, mentor relationships, and so on.
